Diego Vanassibara (http://www.diegovanassibara.com/shop/index.php?route=common/home ) is a Brazilian born designer who has taken the accessories industry by storm with his original take on a long standing craft, shoe making. His shoes speak for themselves, not to be outshined by colorful suits or peculiar sox. Diego moved to Britain when he was about 22 years old, leaving behind his home and desires of being an architect to pursue shoe making at Cordwainer’s College. Anyone with a love of quality materials and old styles made a-fresh will love Vanassibara’s line for autumn/winter 2014 which features deep blues, greens, and vibrant reds.
Nike has been around for a long time, but it’s just recently that they have started to market luxury sneakers. Their shoes are just as likely to be seen paired with basketball short and a jersey as with cuffed chinos and a crisp button down shirt. It isn’t just Nike catering to new high fashion sneaker enthusiast; brands such as Balenciaga and Givenchy have long since picked up on the trend. White leather sneakers where paired with tailored suit on runways during fashion week and can be seen gracing the feet of New York’s fashionable men.
Contrastingly, those same men of fashion have also been sporting what seems to be one of the biggest summer trends, sandals. It’s no joke that Birkenstocks have made a huge comeback over the past year or so. Similar designs can be seen on models wearing loose fitting pants or even well tailored trousers on websites like ZARA. The trends stretched to gladiator style leather sandals as seen in Topman, D Squared 2, and Dolce and Gabana.
